Rousseau Denis was born in 1962 in Jacmel, Haiti. He moved to the capital, Port-au-Prince at a young age and attended school until the seventh
grade. He became interested in painting at the age of 13, visiting galleries and museums. Without any formal training he bagan painting at the age of 20.
He has exhibited in a group show in London and solo shows in Tokyo, Japan and Paris, France.
