Elpedio Robinson

Elpedio Robinson became aware of a natural talent of art while he was in high school and with the encouragement of his art teacher, he resolved to develop that talent. in 1979 he entered the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica, where he specialized in Painting. He received his first major commission in his final year of art school: a public commission to portray the historic 1865 Morant Bay Rebellion. He has had a number of solo and group exhibitions in Jamaica and his work can be found in collections in Jamaica, England, USA, Canada and Egypt.

A popular artist in Jamaica, Robinson works in a realist style, recalling the Jamaica of his childhood, through the games he played as a child  and the activities of daily life at a time when life was simpler.
